2. Last night Camille went 9 hours between feedings and slept like a rock on my belly on the couch in the living room. I love snuggling with her at night.
3. Camille napped in her playpen with ease this afternoon, which allowed me to bake some orange, cranberry, walnut biscotti! I baked two batches and had it out of the oven before she woke up. Wow.
4. Camille cried for 45 minutes this evening when I put her down for another nap. She finally passed out, I went to the grocery store and came back 15 minutes later to her in Brian's arms. Not much of a nap.
5. Camille is now sleeping in her crib...and has been for a while....we'll see how long it lasts. Tonight begins the "cry it out" journey to get her to stay in her bed at night. We've got to get into a routine because we'll be traveling out of town for Christmas, which means: No sleeping on Mamma! :( I am so sad. I've decided to have some popcorn and watch movies tonight (unless she sleeps for a long period of time--then I'll sleep too) while she cries so I can distract myself.
I've been torn on starting this because I've read so many different things. "When they're two months old, they're aware of their surroundings, so start a bedtime routine and stick with it." "They can't self-soothe until they're four to six months old, so don't worry about spoiling them until then." Siiiigh. Bottom line is, I need to be in bed with my man--I miss cuddling and I miss that bed! We have a heated mattress pad that I'm not taking advantage of (although I'd pick cuddling with the baby over the mattress pad really). Also, I don't want to do this cry it out when she's old enough to hate me or get an attitude with me or crawl out of the bed. Time to get used to that crib!
It is hard to listen to her cry, but I know she's okay--there isn't anything bothering her other than her tiredness. I can do this! My reward: some biscotti and movie time and popcorn...and perhaps a cup of coffee. I invested (blew money on) a Keurig machine. The coffee's just so fresh and good and SO quick to make. This is the kind of coffee I can make and enjoy as a busy mom. (commercial much?)
I went to my 6 week visit--all clear! Ready for baby #2! Hah...not just yet. Although I would be okay with another one soon after this first one. I know it'd be insane and stressful, but I'd like them to be close and I'd like to go through all the baby stuff and then be done with it. I think once little C grows up and becomes more independent and I get used to that I won't want to go back to baby mode, and I definitely want more than one!
Camille went to a couple of parties this weekend. Not just the church party, but my hub's birthday party with some of her cousins and a Christmas party for my mom's side of the family. Here are a few pictures of her party outfit (yeah--she wore it to both parties...don't judge me.) and her party face.
These are jeans that are cuffed (we bought them a little big so they'd last) and the cuff is pink, plus some shoes that are a little too big. She does not have gigantic feet. :)
