Holy Heartburn, Batman!

Okay...yesterday I had heartburn for the entire day--after not having had it at all.  After I think three (maybe just two?) Tums...no relief!!  I slept it off...and hope it doesn't return today.  I am now enterting the realm of "uncomfortable" while pregnant.  My feet are continuing to swell daily.  I am off to the store today to look into another pair of pants so that I can cover up some compression socks/stockings.

Also--this actually happened:  I went to the restroom, stood up, and immediately had to go again.  I mean...really?  Not even a few minutes of a break?  Baby C is taking up my insides.

My loving sister told me yesterday:  "Don't take this the wrong way--I mean this as a compliment." (never a good start)  "You finally look pregnant instead of fat.  And you're cute pregnant."  Which means I've been walking around feeling cute pregnant, but really looking fat...and now I feel fat and I look cute pregnant?  Confusing.

With the lack of body control and fat issue items out of the way:

Yesterday was amazing!  I woke up after eleven hours of sleep (work is going to be rough) and went to learn how to make bows with a friend's mom.  I am awful at bows on presents and things, so I was very skeptical.  However--check them out:

In progress
Four finished bows--Mrs. Clara made the blue one; the little one is LSU colors--a little clip on bow!
So, that was a neat experience.  I had to sort of rush out though, because I was supposed to be meeting two friends for lunch at 12...and it was 12:15.  I told them I'd be a little late--but imagine how awful I felt when I get there and they had thrown me a surprise shower!!
I believe the giant foot is a subtle comment on either my swollen hooves or my usually gigantic feet.  :)
Some people that I worked with (two years ago!!) surprised me and we had lunch and got to visit.  I was totally surprised--I had no idea.  I definitely cried on the way home thinking about how sweet it was and how amazing these people in my life are.  I won't blame pregnancy hormones on that--this was such a generous and sweet gesture.  Here are some of the creative and cute onesies they made:

Feeding her ego at a young age  :)

From the math teacher...good thing our baby girl will have no idea what this means...eeeee

From the gifted coordinator, of course.  :)
From the science teacher--it's caffeine!  B loved it!
There were others, but a few too many to post on here as it's already a long post, and I have MORE to share!

After the shower I had to go straight home because they gave us some amazing petit fours--and I didn't want them to get nasty in the car while I ran errands--so back home!  Brian and I sat and ate them all...yum.  Indulge.

Then I took a two hour nap--sooooo good.  Then we cleaned and got the nursery in order!  I mean, it is totally ready except for our little owl shelves' wings--which...if we don't get those on there soon I won't really mind.  All of the trash is out, things are all put away, the clothes are all hung up, in drawers, boxed up for later, or in the laundry waiting to be washed.  So awesome!  Here are some pictures with the floor included this time.  Oh--and we got a mattress!

I haven't repainted our little bugs/flowers by her name, but this will happen soon!  Possibly today!
I hung the bows up...somewhat hideously.  I will need to work on that later.
It took a good while and lots of bending over, which was not pleasant with heartburn.  Why the sudden rush to get it cleaned up?  I'm hosting a book club meeting at my house tomorrow, and dangit--I wanted to show off what we have in there so far !  We still need another chair on the other side of the window by the glider and some pictures in the frame and a few touches here and there.  I'm going to work on getting a chair today...along with cleaning the rest of the house, which didn't seem as exciting/important as the nursery.

Big thanks to my sister, who helped reorganize all of the clothes in the dresser to make it neater and make it make more sense in there.

After all of that I planned to do more work on the house and blog...but I dusted the living room and crashed.  Working a full week this week should be interesting for sure.  Especially with social events going on this week.  Book club Monday and my parents come home Thursday--it's Dad's bday!  So, we'll celebrate somehow.  I don't know the plans for this weekend, but I'm pretty sure that naps are involved.

Okay--must finish this up.  I have more to share including photos, but I'm going to save those for their very own blog entry because the photos are so amazing--I want to make sure people see them before getting bored with my long rambles.  I'm off to clean...ahhhh book club.

  1. Yay for a suprise shower! Those onesies are the cutest! And great job on the bows. That's one thing I haven't learned to do. All of Addison's are store bought. And for the record, I think you've looked adorable your whole pregnancy :)
