Maternity Photoshoot!!!

I have been waiting to blog about this for ages!!!  I wanted to wait until I had more pictures, but now that I have them...I'm being stingy.  I want to share some, but I want to keep some secret until a little later (after the baby showers).

First of all:  WRITE THIS DOWN!  http://www.mustard-seed-photography.com/

This is who made the magic happen.  Lindsey, an amazingly talented artist, took these pictures and edited them to perfection.  I am only sharing a sampling tonight, along with a little story about our day together (which could not have been more fun).  More will come soon.

Lindsey and I have gone to school together since 8th grade--what a pleasure!  We actually got to be good friends that year because our core classes only had about 6 people in them (gifted program--she's definitely got the giftedness going on!  and obviously some talented art that was missed somehow).

Brian reads Dr. Seuss books to my belly while we're pregnant so that the baby gets to hear his voice a lot.  Dr. Seuss has TONS of books I've never heard of, and some of them are super hilarious and strange.  This has been one of my favorite parts of pregnancy--great bonding time for all of us!
I told Brian I had signed us up for maternity pictures, and since he's a little shy at times, I was worried about his reaction to this, but he seemed pretty on board.  As the day got closer, he got a little more nervous, "is she going to pose us?  I don't know how to pose."  "what am I supposed to wear?", etc.

Luckily, Lindsey had some great ideas on locations (the library and a very natural setting at a local arboretum).  I told him to just wear what he was comfortable in, because it was super hot!  Some of the pictures show my hair all sweaty--yet, somehow they're still so pretty!  Anyway--the day came.  Lindsey and I are super talkative, so Brian kind of just drove and listened to us catch up on the way to our first stop.  Lindsey's got a beautiful family, so we got to hear some stories about her boys and about her flourishing business.  It was great--she's so easy to be around and funny.  We laughed the whole way there.  Great catch-up time.
Needless to say, it was hard for Brian to keep on being quiet with so much fun going on.  He pretty much decided that Lindsey was easy going enough and he could be himself--so he started joking around and being so hilarious that most of the pictures are of me laughing.  This was a shock--he's not totally himself in front of many people.  Taking pictures with these two ended up being so easy!  Lindsey was getting in all kinds of weird angles to take pictures, Brian was dancing around and being hilarious--it was so much fun!  It was really, really hot, but it was a blast (as the pictures reflect).  There was little posing--lots of fun; and she captured so many great shots (many of them are still on hold for a later post).
You can see here, he's not so shy at this point, and still making me laugh.  What a great man.  I have never felt more beautiful than I do lately, carrying his baby girl.  I'm huge and have these gigantic wal-mart cart ankles, and he's still so loving and complimentary--it's amazing how great he makes me feel.  I've married a total prince of a man.
I couldn't be more overjoyed and content than I am now, knowing that our baby girl is doing well inside her little cocoon.  We can't wait to meet her.

We can't thank mustard.seed.photography and Lindsey enough for the amazing memories she captured that day, and how she made us both come alive and feel comfortable enough to be so in love in front of someone else.  Really, she helped us make a lot of memories, and then made it so that we could keep them forever...that's a special talent.
