Let's go ahead and blame my progress with the blog this past week on the pregnancy. I am so tired--every day! I did, in my (and baby's) defense, have a lot going on every day this past week. I managed to blog on Friday (I think) when I finally had nothing to do after work. I literally came in from work, showered, and was in pj's before 4pm and then read and blogged and went to bed.
While I've been so busy, I still can't figure out much to talk about on here. Some pregnancy things that have happened: My nose leaks randomly (grosssss), I have a friend from high school who is super talented with sewing and made a nursing cover that's coming to me--I'm excited about that!, I can't remember anything or speak English, I am super clutzy, annnnnd....I'm pretty sure that I forgot that I drove my mom and I somewhere after about 5 minutes of being there. I mean, it's bad. Please God, don't let me lock my keys in my car with my baby in there. That has to be one of my biggest fears. Hopefully I will stay afraid of that so that this never happens. I will bust a window! Have you seen this episode of Modern Family? Hilarious--they lock the baby in the car...look that up on Hulu.
Side note: I started and finished Hunger Games this weekend...it was good. I dreamed creepy dreams every night though--not a good night time read. I'm reading The Poisonwood Bible, but paused to read Hunger Games because my students are reading it in their English class. Both have been good reads.
My Dad came in from Belgium (for a very short trip--sad), and we celebrated his birthday with an apple pie (his favorite; I hate apple pie). I baked it up from scratch (way easier than it sounds) and decorated it. I have to say--I like working with doughs and cookies/pies way more than icing and cakes/cupcakes. I have friends that work wonders with cupcakes and cakes, and I'm so amazed. My kids will be having birthday cakes made my said friends (or my mom/B's mom--they're both good at decorating cakes) or we will start a new tradition: The Birthday Cookie Jar or Birthday Pastry or something.
We spent the weekend eating; they bbq'd (someone just discovered that the full spelling of "barbecue" doesn't include the letter "q") about 3 tons of meat (we have the left overs to back this up) Saturday and today we went to Chili's--where, by the way, we had the most amazing waitress on the planet. Which is interesting, because every other time we've gone to this particular location the service has been so bad that we've complained--and we are super laid back people. (My sentence structure in this "paragraph" is really bad....and I'm a certified English teacher...yeah....and I teach advanced students...that's not good.)
Anywho--Dad leaves for Belgium again in the morning. He won't be back until Januaryish, which means he'll miss Camille's arrival, and the birth of my brother's baby. This is sad news. We'll all miss him a lot and I hate that he'll be gone for these events. Unfortunately, he was committed to the job before we told him we were having babies (before we knew). Good news is: Mom's back!!!! We'll get to do some things together for the nursery and just visit in general--plus she's going to be my walking partner (see below).
See how lame the pictures we take of me look in comparison to mustard-seed-photography.com's?
The point of the photo is:
I'm 34 weeks. I've decided that I'd like to speed things up a little...have her come around week 37 when she's "full term". So, we're going to start walking daily! Time to get things going before she grows much more! I don't want to have 10 pounds of pain coming through--know what I mean?
Wish us luck. Three weeks...let's make some magic happen. This would also be cool because then I would get out of work sooner...which just seems restful (although I realize having a newborn isn't relaxing...so this may be something I rethink when it's too late).
Good luck with that walking thing.. I exercised and did yoga for the majority of the pregnancy and when I had to slow down, we walked constantly... and still had to be induced at 41 weeks. Hope its much easier for you and Camille!
ReplyDeleteOh man...maybe my laziness during the rest of the pregnancy will work in my favor now. Good for you being so active! It definitely shows--you look so awesome, and you did right after Noah was born, too!
