Paaaaaahahhahaa--yeah right.
My sister-in-law is due in a little over a week, and she's READY. Alas, no labor today. We all got together and B's parents' house and had a nice visit and lunch. His mom is pretty much the classic Southern Belle; she cooks these insanely awesome (and healthy) meals (everything's from scratch) for huge groups of people, she cleans afterwards (the girls generally help out, but she's never just said--"I cooked, you clean" and rested afterwards--which she is totally entitled to do!), she hand-sews these amazing things, she bakes, she makes doll houses (or has--and it's AWESOME)....all of this no matter what's going on with her in life. God bless her.
Here's a picture of my sister-in-law and me:
She's got this perfect little bump and is just glowing! She's due in a week--doesn't she look amazing?? I somehow don't look pregnant in this picture...maybe just a little wide. Good thing is I know it's just the shirt I have on and I'm not all self-conscious about it. She dropped this week! She said it was a pretty neat feeling, so that is pretty exciting. I hope she has some serious progress soon and doesn't go past her due date. We're going to go get pedicures this week--and pray that they hit the pressure point on your ankle that induces labor (at least this is what I've heard).
I love all the little tricks on inducing labor. Some are a little "dirty", but it's so weird what can trigger it. Walking, pressure points, hormones, full moons, (dirty ones I will leave out), and apparently the zoo. The zoo is what helped my other sister-in-law go into labor (at least we all think so). Lots of walking, but perhaps the noises or pheromones??
The other day Brian sneezed and Camille jumped in my belly. That is pretty neat. Poor thing was scared; it makes her more human and less "hidden treasure". Our nephew already talks to her and asks about what she likes and whether she'll freak out about his dinosaur bones or not. She's more "here" to him than she is to me; he's only 3! Impressive, young one.
Your SIL is beautiful! Sorry we couldn't meet her this weekend. And interesting about feeling the baby drop. Never thought of that as something you can really feel.
ReplyDeleteI never saw this! She really is beautiful and her little girl is just like her!
