Give it a rest Ovaries!

***WARNING--VERY FEMALE CONTENT*** (for the first paragraph...skip it if you like)

As though to prove that they are still in existence, my ovaries have come alive and I officially have my monthly friend back!  You've gotta be KIDDING ME!  I mean, I'm not horribly angry or upset, but GUFAW!  Really?  I just get 9 weeks of freedom from either being pregnant or being back on cycle?  Plus, most of those weeks I was still having some post-delivery bleeding.  This is ridiculous.  Time to get pregnant again I guess.  :)  Joking, joking.  With nursing aren't you supposed to get a bigger break?  Pshhh.  I guess I'm just fertile?  That's a plus side I guess.
I can't even take anything for cramps really.  I don't want to anyway--not with Camille nursing.  If they get bad enough I'll look into it.
*After looking up when is a normal time for this to happen, I have learned that I'm part of 1-7% of nursing mothers that get this before the baby is 6 months.  6 months!!!  Geesh.

More Pleasant Topic:
I'm up early today.  Camille went to bed around 10 and slept until 6:30.  YES, she is amazing.  And I slept in my bed, she in hers.  There was no fussing and no rocking--she just went down and passed out and I was able to sleep without crying also.
After that much sleep she was wide awake this morning.  I put her back in her playpen so I could go back to sleep and she just played and talked to her self and smiled and giggled...how can anyone sleep through that cuteness??  I couldn't (Brian did).  We got up and went to play.  Of course, she's napping now (as she does an hour and a half or so after each feeding) and I'm up and sleepy.  It doesn't pay to nap now though--she'll be up in an hour.
C's aunt and uncle bought her a little pig that plays music when you pull its feet, and she is in love with it.  She coos at it and talks to it and smiles at it and she's starting to finally grab at it!!!  I mean grab, not swat.  She swats things already (which is awesome, but her aim is still a little weak--getting there).  She grabs at the little feet and has managed to get her fingers around the ring you pull.  When she gets her fingers on there I pull the pig up and she grips it and the music starts.  It's amazing!
She also held a toy today for the first time!!  It was just an orange teether ring that's on a little link ring--and she was totally looking at the pig, not the teether--but it was still awesome to see her holding it and waving it around while staring at the pig.
This means she'll soon be playing with some of the toys she got for Christmas from her Parrain' and Tia Mari!  She has some little discovery toys that are great for development, but she's got to have some basic grabbing and touching skills down first.  We're getting there!  What a great time.  Too bad I have to go back to work so soon and miss some of her development time.  Stupid American Priorities!   What happened to family first?
Siiiiiiigh.

So, sorry the beginning of the post was so personal...only other moms would sympathize I figured.

  1. I took the mini pill while I nursed... I'm coming up on 2 years without my evil friend.. but she's coming in 2 weeks (I chart...). I haven't missed it, at ALL and I have a feeling it's coming at me with a vengeance..

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  2. Jenn-- those first couple periods after going for a while without any were a little rougher than the norm. That's awesome you could go 2 years!! Once either of my kids started eating more solids and less milk, I was back in the saddle again... although in my case, not for long before getting pregnant again! :o/

  3. I am so jealous Jenn--hope it isn't too bad. I guess mine was pretty gentle--no pain when it normally isn't pleasant at all.
Oooh Kelly--so excited about #3! I'm hoping I'm not on it long before we are pregnant again. I want to have my kiddos close together!
