THEN: TWO SNOW DAYS!
I had lots of time, but blogging wasn't the priority, so I'm just rolling around to some Camille updates. I managed to clean some of the house, take care of a birthday present or two, bake cookies for a family weekend coming up, and of course lots of play time with my favorite little girl!

Just waking up--very happy! |
1. She is awesome. This isn't news, but she's continuing to amaze us as she always has.
2. She is baby talking so much and seems to be doing a lot more! She grabs toys and sticks them in her mouth, she holds onto toys, she talks to them, she rolls to her belly (then gets mad about it), she plays on her tummy for extended periods of time, and now she is getting her little knees up under her to start crawling!!! She's not there yet, but she'll be there before we are ready (can you be ready for that???).
3. I've figured out how to get her to nap until her next feeding: put her to sleep later in her play time. Duh, right? Except she'd get fussy around an hour and a half after eating, so I'd put her to sleep. She'd wake up 30 minutes later and be grumpy for another hour. Well, I finally figured out that by walking around with her and putting on a little Sesame Street (and I'm totally anti-TV) that she can make it a little longer. I hate TV generally--I don't want her to be a technology zombie, but I read to her while it's on and she doesn't zone into it completely.
4. Real clothes! We're actually dressing her in some real clothes during the days rather then onesie pj's. This only happens on the weekends though since during the week she's just playing at her Granny's. The real clothes are SO cute--babies in big people clothes are just too cute.
5. No social life for mom and dad. We haven't gone on a date in forever and we were going to this weekend, but our usual babysitters are all unavailable and we're not ready to branch away from family sitters just yet. I guess we don't need a date bad enough yet. And we've had to pass up a night with friends because it's at night and we can't be away from the house past about 6pm. Talk about fogies! She's great and I don't want to mess with her routine (or lose all of my sleep that I can't make up during the day)--so it's worth the lack of social life I guess. :)
6. Why am I numbering my updates?
Oh my goodness Pam, I swear she gets cuter with every picture I see!! Love the big girl clothes. I would dress her in that during our days at home and we would do photo shoots every day! Be so protective of the routine. I still am!! Every body knows that the hours between 1-4 pm are off limits for us. That's nap time and mommy's break time!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!! She has gotten even CUTER! And she looks so much older and different just from the last set of pics you put up here... They really do get big so fast! And no, you can never be totally prepared for when they get mobile, but you'll all manage to survive anyway!
ReplyDeleteAww--thanks ladies. She definitely is growing fast and looks so different now! We don't even realize it until we look at old pictures. It's crazy!
ReplyDeleteWe used to hate dressing her--she didn't like it, so it was hard stuff. But now she loves changing clothes, so we've been doing more big girl clothes and photo shoots--so fun!
I think survival is what it's all about sometimes--we just barely scrape by some days.
