Oh man, lots to learn to be a parent! Thank goodness for all of you and your help!
Camille went to the doctor today and got more shots. She did ok, I cried, but we both recovered quickly. She is growing at the same rate as before--whew! We've upped her bottles to 5oz. and she is going longer and sleeping better. I am borrowing my MIL's hospital scale this week (I'm off the whole week for Mardi Gras!!) so I can weigh her before and after feedings to see how much she gets from me regularly. That will help. Apparently lots of 4 month olds are on 6-7 oz. Oops.
Nighttime...is not as great as it once was. Remember those 8-11 hours between feedings at around 2 months? No more. We are down to 4 hrs. I think originally it started because I went back to work, then because she actually needed more milk, and now I've just taught her that I'll feed her and put her in my bed when she cries. This is bad. Doc said we can pump at night and see if the milk is thinner and maybe not holding her as long. We can also do cereal or add some formula....which I don't want to do. She is also old enough to cry it out now. I've seen her put herself to sleep, but on her stomach...and that still makes me nervous even though she can roll. She is capable though. We may try it soon. I was close to doing it this week because I'm off, but I'm not ready yet. I like cuddling with her at night--or more like avoiding touching her and constantly waking up to check on her. :/ She just smells so sweet!!
Siiiigh.
She talks a lot these days and plays so well. She reaches and grabs really well. She can push up and scoot forward. She smiles all the time--the sweetest thing on the planet. I'm just smitten. I want more already!
Before we have more, I have got to lose this insane belly!! We are starting a caveman diet Wednesday for Lent. God will have to help me. I'll be doing it in moderation since I'm nursing, but I need something and B is super excited about it. I will just focus on being fit for Camille and less huge for our next baby.
