Friday we went to closing--here is a shot of how excited I was on the way:
and it was time to get to work!
Yes, we were vacuuming out cabinets--they were dusty...I have no idea how the previous owner put his dishes in there. Of course, our old cabinets are probably gross by now too. Here's a shot of our living room before we brought in the stuff:
It was so much cleaner then. Now we have a ton of work in front of us, but at least we are in!
Oh goodness. It is already a little better--I woke up with Camille early and once she went back to sleep I got started. Little by little we'll get it all put away and cleaned up (can't wait!).
It is so nice to be in our own little house now and to feel at home and permanently settled. I can handle some manual labor to make it our own. I'm also extremely excited about buying curtains, new bedding, outdoor furniture, and all of the fun bits that go with a new house. We just have to clean it all up before we can start the fun stuff. It won't take more than a week (ha ha), so I will update soon with pictures of the finished product.
A HUGE Thank You to all of our family that helped out! The furniture and boxes flew into the house thanks to my Mom, Dad, Bro, and B's two Bro's. They were all awesome! Mom helped me put the kitchen in order and made our bed so that we could go to sleep at a decent hour last night--Thanks!!! B's Mom and Dad helped out big time too by watching our little one and one of our nephews so that the Bro's could help out. Our family is awesome! Thank you everyone!
Congrats Pam! I can't wait to buy, but we have to wait until J is out of school! i feel you on the noise level. Our current rental is next to a busy road and we are on the corner. We went look at a new rental this weekend and found one in a VERY quiet hood. I told J I might have trouble going to sleep with no noise if we get the place!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, happy new home! Can't wait to see all your decor for it! What city are yall living in now?
