Methods Attempted:

Okay, fair warning!!!

This includes some facts that most people would be better off without.  If you know of natural ways to induce labor, then just skip reading this--you can rest assured that we've tried them all.  However, I'd like to list everything we've done mostly for my record (since I have an awful memory) and for the amusement of those who are interested in reading odd things we've tried.  You have been warned--read or don't read as you will.

Baby Evac Methods Attempted:

1. Lots of sex
2. Lots of walking (as much as possible with the still healing ankle)
3. Warm compresses on nipples
4. Evening primrose oil (orally...and otherwise)
5. Squats
6. Tailor Pose Sitting
7. Red Raspberry Leaf Tea
8. Massaging pressure points on ankles, arms, shoulders--anything we could find
9. Spicy food
10. Hot showers
11. Cold showers
12. Visiting a zoo
13. Holding newborn babies (and sniffing her head repeatedly--so sweet!!!!)
14. Massaging the belly
15. Envisioning going into labor
16. Telling C it's okay to come out now (yes, this was an actual recommendation)
17. Dancing/swinging her out
18. Lots of rest and relaxation (I slept a lot Sunday, then read and laid around)
19. Nipple Stimulation
20. Stretching the pelvis

I mean...what else is there?  Castor oil is not an option--I refuse to go into labor because I'm so sick that my uterus wants to contract.  Ugh.  Full moon is coming up this weekend, so I'm hoping maybe that will help?  I mean...this girl's just not ready apparently.  I wish I could walk more, I really feel like that would help.  I try to walk a lot at work, but my ankle isn't a fan.  It gets way better, then the next day it's sore all over again.  That has ruined the progress I think.  AH--and one friend did recommend a visit to a chiropractor, but I'm too cheap and not quite desperate enough yet.  However, if by Thursday she's still hanging in there, I may try and go that day since I have a doctor's appointment and will be off of work anyway.

Sorry for such a personal list; it's really just a list of everything we could find that was recommended--try not to associate it with a specific individual.

I guess baby C is just asserting her independence and strong will.  Great.  Already.

I still can't wait to meet this little stinker--I am going to love those chubby little cheeks!!!!

  1. The reason mothers go into labor during a full moon is the barometric pressure or something. Maybe you should take repeated elevator rides up and down the State Capital. There is an acupuncturist/herbalist on STAFF at Lane Hospital now. She has the highest degree you can get in Chinese Medicine. Maybe she could give you something to get started? -CM
